About
performing in my passion
My name is Nyara Elizabeth Gonzalez. I am 18 years old. I am grateful to have grown up in a very musical and performance-driven family. My mother is a singer-songwriter, my grandmother is a writer, and I have many musicians in the family. I also have family members in Puerto Rico who put on plays throughout the island. I believe this is where my passion for acting and music comes from.
I love to dance, act, and sing. I graduated from Orville Platt High School in June of 2025. During my time at Platt, I was a member of their Concert Choir as an Alto, and also their audition-only Choir ensemble “Con Alma”. I was a part of the Platt Theatre program and was cast in 11 productions: The Three Musketeers, The Adams Family The Musical, Antigone, She Kills Monsters, Badger, Macbeth, Mean Girls The Musical, among others. My final performance was as Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5 The Musical. My love for theatre began with the lead role of the Genie in Lincoln Middle School's production of Aladdin Jr. in 2019.
I have been dancing since the age of 5. I have been assistant teaching at United Rhythms since I was 10 yrs old. I have assisted and choreographed for Preteen HipHop, Kids Latin, and their Children's Program. I was also a choreographer for Lincoln Middle School's theatre program from 2021-2025 and have choreographed numbers for their productions of Dear Edwina, Moana Jr., The Newsies Jr, Wonka Jr., and Beauty & the Beast Jr.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a back up dancer for Betty Dee of "Sweet Sensation". With Betty, I have had the opportunity to tour and perform at many Freestyle events in large arenas and venues in the tri-state area. I have also toured with Latin Record Artist "La Nena de la Bachata", performing on television show in Puerto Rico and venues in CT and surrounding states.
I am currently an undergraduate student at Quinnipiac University, majoring in Law in Society/ Pre-Law, with a plan to declare a second major in Hispanic and Latin American Studies. I hope have the opportunity to be involved in the performance arts on campus.
